Dedicated to mental health, education, and community empowerment through innovative programs.

AIWE promotes mental wellbeing through community-centered programs that raise awareness, reduce stigma, and strengthen psychosocial support systems. We provide life skills training, emotional support programs, and capacity building for community health workers, teachers, and youth leaders. Our interventions empower individuals to cope, thrive, and access the care they need.

We support adolescents and young people to make informed health decisions through comprehensive sexuality education, menstrual health programs, youth-friendly services, and capacity building of peer educators. AIWE collaborates with schools, health facilities, and community structures to promote dignity, safety, and equitable access to reproductive health information and services.

AIWE advances quality education by strengthening learning environments, supporting vulnerable learners, and providing training in leadership, digital literacy, mentorship, and employability skills. Our programs build confidence, resilience, and opportunities for the next generation to reach their full potential.

We improve community health through safe water access, hygiene promotion, sanitation solutions, and behavioral change communication. AIWE works with schools, households, and local government to promote handwashing, clean water use, menstrual hygiene management, and sustainable WASH practices.

AIWE implements integrated health interventions that strengthen disease prevention, health education, and community resilience. We conduct outreach, screenings, home visits, and link communities to essential health services in partnership with the Ministry of Health and local health facilities.

AIWE conducts evidence-based research and generates insights to inform programs, policies, and community interventions. Through partnerships with academic institutions and health systems, we design innovative solutions that address emerging health and education challenges.Our training programs enhance knowledge, leadership, and competence to improve service delivery in communities and institutions.

Through its Climate Change Adaptation and Environmental Resilience Program, AIWE empowers vulnerable communities in Uganda to withstand the growing impacts of climate change by promoting climate-smart agriculture, environmental conservation, disaster preparedness, renewable energy solutions, and community-led adaptation initiatives. By strengthening resilience, restoring ecosystems, enhancing livelihoods, and increasing climate awareness, AIWE plays a vital role in building sustainable, environmentally responsible, and climate-resilient communities for present and future generations.

The Story of AIWE

AIWE was founded in response to Uganda’s growing need for community-centered wellbeing solutions grounded in research, local leadership, and holistic development approaches. The organization was established to support government health and education priorities by strengthening grassroots systems, empowering youth, and offering equitable access to knowledge and services.
