Education, Life Skills & Youth Empowerment Program (ELS&YEP)
Uganda’s youth population is rapidly growing—energetic, creative, and full of potential. Yet many young people face persistent challenges that hinder their ability to thrive: limited access to quality education; inadequate life skills to navigate real-world challenges; high rates of unemployment; gender inequalities; and social pressures that can lead to risky behaviors, violence, or hopelessness. In many communities, the transition from adolescence to adulthood is marked by confusion, uncertainty, and lack of support.
To address these pressing needs and nurture the next generation of leaders, the Aurora Institute for Wellbeing & Education (AIWE) established the Education, Life Skills & Youth Empowerment Program (ELS&YEP)—a holistic initiative that empowers young people with the knowledge, attitudes, skills, and opportunities they need to shape their futures. The program integrates academic support, leadership development, social-emotional learning, employability skills, civic engagement, and personal empowerment.
